Accommodations: The hillside cottages, cooled by trade winds, are dotted along a scenic ridge and have spectacular Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean views. A lone cottage on the island's North Beach is set seaside among leafy sea grape trees. Its living room, bedroom, and kitchen have terraces, and there's a saltwater pool. Jost House is a villa with 3 bedrooms that open onto a terrace with an infinity-edge pool and a hot tub. One bedroom has a private pool. Harbour House can be configured as either a 1- or a 2-bedroom villa, with large terraces, a dining verandah, an infinity-edge pool, and a hot tub. NOTE: The cottages have no air-conditioning, no TV, and no phones.
Dining & Entertainment: Dine at the Club on tasty American, continental, and Caribbean cuisine. The chef's breakfast specialties include mango crepes with mascarpone crème. Lunch selections may include such delights as local snapper and conch fritters. Dinner is dynamic with menu offerings such as lobster bisque, Beef Wellington, and baked marinated porcini mushrooms. You can dine by candlelight with your special someone or join other guests at larger tables. Be taken by boat to secluded Bigelow Beach, Muskmelon Bay Beach, or Harris Beach for a private Castaway Picnic. For an afternoon break, try some locally grown fruit or have tea and fresh-baked cookies at the Club or the beach bar. As the sun sets, gather at the Queen's Terrace and look for the green flash. Catch the weekly beach barbecue with Caribbean music.
Recreation: Lie in a hammock on the half-mile, powder-sand White Bay Beach, and swim in the gentle water. Play tennis on 2 courts, go pedal boating, windsurf, and snorkel. The transparent kayak gives you a new perspective on the sea. Hike along 12 miles of trails, set through mountains, hills, and valleys. Additional diversions include water-skiing, deep-sea fishing, scuba diving, and day trips to other islands. Succumb to a special spa treatment, and do yoga in the Garden of Eden. The resident ornithologist leads a tour of the Orchard.
