Day #1 Geneva, Switzerland. Bienvenue! Time to relax or to begin exploring the city of watches. Your Local Host provides you with a Destination Guide, full of useful city information, and is on hand to help you create lasting memories.
Day #2 Geneva. On your morning guided sightseeing and orientation, see Geneva’s international sector with some of the world’s major peacemaking organizations; admire the amazing Water Fountain and Flower Clock. Visit ST. PETER’S CATHEDRAL in the Old Town, best known for John Calvin’s inspiring sermons during the mid-16th century.
Day #3 Geneva. Full day at leisure.
Day #4 Geneva–Lucerne. Travel to Lucerne by TRAIN (first-class).
Day #5 Lucerne. Morning guided sightseeing and orientation: admire Thorwaldsen’s LION MONUMENT and ornate patrician houses of the walled Old Town, then cross CHAPEL BRIDGE, Lucerne’s famous landmark, to see the Jesuit church.
Day #6 Lucerne. Full day at leisure.
Day #7 Lucerne–Lugano. Travel to Lugano by TRAIN (first-class).
Day #8 Lugano. On your morning guided sightseeing and orientation, walk along arcaded Via Nassa, where fishermen once tended their nets and now home to designer fashion stores, world banks, and prime Swiss watch and jewelry displays. See SANTA MARIA DEGLI ANGELI CHURCH with its impressive Crucifixion painted by Bernardino Luini in 1529, and the elegant main square, PIAZZA RIFORMA, which has changed little in 200 years. Stroll along the lakeside promenade lined with maples and palms to the park with its colorful flower displays and majestic trees.
Day #9 Lugano. Full day at leisure to delight in the town’s wonderful blend of charm and sophistication.
Day #10 Lugano. Your vacation ends with breakfast this morning (the nearest airport is Milan Malpensa).
