Day #1 Venice, Italy. Benvenuto! Time to relax or to begin exploring car-free, romantic Venice. Your Local Host provides you with a Destination Guide, full of useful city information, and is on hand to help you create lasting memories.
Day #2 Venice. Morning guided sightseeing and orientation with headset. See ST. MARK’S SQUARE and BASILICA, visit DOGES’ PALACE, the BRIDGE OF SIGHS, and watch a GLASSBLOWERS’ DEMONSTRATION. ENTRANCES to the Marciana Library and the Correr and Archaeological museums are included; ask your Local Host for details.
Day #3 Venice. Full day to explore this intriguing city of canals and bridges at your own pace.
Day #4 Venice–Florence. Morning transfer to the HIGH-SPEED TRAIN (first-class) with early-afternoon arrival in Florence.
Day #5 Florence. Morning guided sightseeing and orientation with headset: visit the ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS with Michelangelo’s original David. Walk through Cathedral Square, sculpture-studded Piazza della Signoria, and Santa Croce Square. Also, admire medieval Ponte Vecchio.
Day #6 Florence. Full day to enjoy the atmosphere of this splendid Renaissance city.
Day #7 Florence–Rome. This morning, board the HIGH-SPEED TRAIN (first-class) to Rome, arriving in the early afternoon.
Day #8 Rome. Morning guided sightseeing and orientation, including headset, takes you to the VATICAN MUSEUMS to view some of its amazing treasures. See the SISTINE CHAPEL, with Michelangelo’s famous ceiling paintings and The Last Judgement. Visit monumental ST. PETER’S SQUARE and BASILICA, originally built in 313 AD above St. Peter the Apostle’s tomb. From 1506, the Basilica was reconstructed by great artists and sculptors, and it has the largest interior of all Christian churches.
Day #9 Rome. Full day at leisure to enjoy the “Eternal City.”
Day #10 Rome. Your vacation ends with breakfast this morning.
