Accommodations: A pink and white jeep whisks along cobblestone roads lined by coconut palm trees and takes you to a bungalow-style room or suite, where you're greeted with a message, "bienvenido" ("welcome"), spelled out in palm fronds and flower blossoms. Accommodations have a private or semi-private pool, a balcony or terrace, air-conditioning, a ceiling fan, a mini-bar, satellite TV, a safe, a clock radio, bathrobes, an iron and an ironing board, and a hairdryer. Some Master Suites have a Jacuzzi, and others have an indoor-outdoor swimming pool.
Dining & Entertainment: Each morning, retrieve a breakfast of coffee, sweet rolls, and fresh fruit left in the "magic box," a cubbyhole with doors accessed from outside and inside your accommodations. Have seafood, tacos, pasta, and pizza for lunch at the private beach club's restaurant. Its poolside bar serves hamburgers, sandwiches, snacks, and tropical drinks. You can sit on the flower-fringed open-air terrace with a view of Acapulco's sparkling lights when dining at the hilltop El Bellavista. The restaurant features live piano music in the evening, and its a la carte menu is a mix of Mexican and international fare. Throughout the day, grab something casual at the deli shop. Usher in twilight at the Sunset Bar. Room service is available 24 hours. Ask about arranging a special romantic dinner.
Recreation: Take the 5-minute shuttle ride to the beach club, with a free-form freshwater pool, 2 rock- and fieldstone-lined saltwater pools that open to the bay, and a water sports desk with snorkeling gear and kayaks. Make arrangements for a scuba diving or fishing excursion. Visit a nearby sunny beach, and go windsurfing, jet-skiing, sailing, and more. You can play tennis on lighted courts, work the universal gym at the fitness center, have a restorative body treatment at the spa, and tee up at an area championship golf course. Venture into Acapulco, called the Pearl of the Pacific, for recreational adventures, shopping trips, or to just take in the beautiful natural surroundings.
