Accommodations: Bay and City View, Partial Ocean and Coastal View, and Direct Beachfront Guestrooms are all available; there are also suites and penthouses. Tile floors, blond-wood furniture, sunny color schemes, and the private balconies give the rooms a breezy, relaxed ambience. Sofas, refrigerators, microwaves, coffeemakers (with complimentary coffee), hairdryers, irons/ironing boards, 32-inch TVs, DVD/CD/MP3 players, phones, and data ports are standard in all. Electronic safes and wireless internet access are complimentary. Each has 1 king bed (with a Simmons Health Smart mattress) and 1 double bed. Suites have separate bedrooms, kitchenettes, and living and dining rooms. Each penthouse is uniquely furnished, but all have floor-to-ceiling windows with incredible views. BONUS: Kids under 17 stay for free when lodging in a room with an accompanying adult.
Dining & Entertainment: Spinners, the hotel's revolving, rooftop restaurant, is famous for its ever-changing panoramic view (and it doesn't revolve as fast as its name implies – it takes about an hour and a half to make one revolution). Dress code ranges from casual to semi-formal, lunch and dinner are served, and reservations are not required. If you don't like to mix your meals with motion, there's seating in a non-revolving area. If you're in the mood for Caribbean-inspired cuisine with a touch of spice, head to Bahama Mamas. With live music, a menu of 200 drinks, and opened till 2:00am, Bahama Mamas is also a perfect nightspot. Breakfast is served in The Palm Room, where you can dine buffet-style or a la carte, and there's a cocktail lounge in the lobby.
Recreation: The beach is spectacular, with some of the whitest sand in Florida, and the green-blue waters of the Gulf Coast are warm, calm, and ideal for swimming (they also provide excellent visibility for scuba diving, and Florida's Gulf Coast is rife with excellent diving spots). The hotel's heated pool is surrounded by chaise lounges for sunbathing, and when you want a change in scenery, you can head to the hotel's sister property, the Beachcomber Beach Resort and Hotel (all guests have full exchange privileges). Use of the fitness center is complimentary, and there's a game room for kids. To make the most of your trip, customize your itinerary with activities in the Clearwater/Tampa/St. Petersburg area, which include ghost tours of St. Petersburg, day trips to SeaWorld and Bush Gardens, and dolphin encounters at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
