Resort Description
This family-friendly and fitness-oriented resort shows an abiding respect for the maritime forest, salt marshes, and native wildlife it is set among. Play golf and tennis where pros compete.
Setting & Ambience: On Florida's northeastern tip, this active and upscale resort is set tastefully within its surrounding natural environment.
Accommodations: All 249 oceanfront inn rooms, with a tropical color scheme, were recently refurbished. They contain a king-size bed and a sleep sofa or 2 queen-size beds, plush pillow top mattresses, 330-count Egyptian cotton linens, a flat-screen high-definition TV with video on demand, an iHome™ iPod clock radio, and cherry and granite desks, dressers, and vanities. Ocean or resort view rooms and 1-, 2-, and 3 bedroom guest quarters make up the 350 villas. They each have cable TV and a king-size bed, 1 or 2 queen-size beds, 2 twin beds, or some combination. The 2- and 3-bedroom units include a living room, dining room, and full kitchen. All resort accommodations have a coffeemaker, safe, iron and ironing board, and hairdryer.
Dining & Entertainment: Begin the day with a buffet breakfast, and eat light with sandwiches and salads for lunch. Dine elegantly on contemporary regional cuisine and casually on seafood. A gourmet food market and café has homemade ice cream. Take to the dance floor at the bar decorated with aviation memorabilia, and enjoy live entertainment at the lobby lounge some evenings.
Recreation: Try out all four 18-hole championship courses, and choose among 23 clay tennis courts. Take a guided nature tour on a Segway, cast a line for fresh- and saltwater fish, and go horseback riding on the beach. There's a spa, a kids' club, a fitness center, a pool, a game room, and more. TIP: Get up at dawn and you may see dolphins frolicking in the ocean!
