Accommodations: Over-water bungalows are spacious, the smallest measuring 1,080-square-feet. A limited number of slightly larger bungalows with private plunge pools are also available. Beachfront villas are more secluded and larger, each with 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Each bungalow and villa has a private entry and a private, furnished lanai for lounging and dining. The Otemanu Beachfront Villa, the resort's most spacious and luxurious accommodation, has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Amenities in all include 42" plasma-screen TVs with satellite and on-demand channels, DVD players, high-speed internet and Wi-Fi, mini-bar, tea/coffee makers, safes, complimentary daily newspapers, bathrobes, luxury bath amenities, and irons/ironing boards. Children's amenities like cribs and bottle warmers are also on hand.
Dining & Entertainment: Arri Moana, the main restaurant, is a short walk from the beach and pool, and it's open all day. Nave Nave opens for dinner, and specializes in Polynesian and French cuisine. Both offer views of the lagoon. Fare Hoa serves beachside/poolside snacks and beverages. For evening drinks and entertainment, stop by Sunset Bar. Room service runs 24 hours a day.
Recreation: The wave-shaped freshwater swimming pool with a whirlpool and the white-sand beach are the focus of attention during the day for swimming and sunbathing. There are tennis courts, a spa with 9 treatment rooms, and a fully-equipped fitness center with classes in yoga, aqua aerobics, and more. Water sports include kitesurfing and windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, jet-skiing and water-skiing, parasailing, scuba diving, and deep-sea fishing. The Kids for All Seasons and Teen Island programs provide supervised activities like lei-making, sand-sculpting, volcano making, movie nights, board and video games, and sports like beach volleyball. Jeep and ATV safaris, helicopter tours, historic WWII island tours, snorkeling with reef sharks and bat rays, hiking on the volcanoes Mt. Otemanu and Mt. Pahia, shopping, and ancient Marae temples are some of the local attractions and excursions.
