Accommodations: Your simple yet elegant room or suite has what you need for a comfortable stay: air-conditioning, a balcony, cable TV, a coffee maker and a teapot, in-room Internet connection, an in-room safe, a clock radio, an iron and an ironing board, and a hairdryer. Wake after a restful night in a king-size or double bed. Many of the guest quarters also offer a private reception, continental breakfast, and canapes and drinks throughout the day. Some suites have a small lounge or living room and luxury amenities such as plush bathrobes and slippers. NOTE: If you stay in accommodations facing the pool courtyard on weekends, you may be disturbed by the noise. The hotel has laundry services.

Dining & Entertainment: At Cafe Montejo, you can choose among the buffet, the a la carte menu, and the weekday theme specials: international on Monday, Tex-Mex on Tuesday, Spanish on Wednesday, grilled fare on Thursday, and seafood on Friday. The restaurant showcases live piano music. Regional dishes satisfy and tantalize at the fine dining Los Almendros. Stop by happy hour at La Hach, with delicious snacks, refreshing cocktails, and a large-screen TV. It hosts live musical performances several nights a week. Order something from room service whenever you wish.

Recreation: Take a dip in the swimming pool, sparkling in the Caribbean Mexican sunshine. You can keep up your exercise routine in the gym, and reward yourself with a spa treatment. Children get their own brand of fun at the Fiesta Kids Club, with supervised activities. Go on an excursion to Celestun to see thousands of pink flamingos, Uxmal and Chichen Itza to explore ancient Mayan ruins, and Progreso Port to stroll along the seaside walkway.
