Accommodations: Because the resort is built parallel to the beach, all the guest rooms are just steps from the white sand. They are decorated in a modern Mexican style with earth tones. Each has a balcony or terrace, a king-size bed or 2 double beds, air-conditioning, satellite TV, a mini-bar, a clock radio, a safe deposit box, and a hairdryer. Some rooms also have a whirlpool tub in the bath.
Dining & Entertainment: You have a wide array of dining choices, from the gourmet buffet of national and international specialties at Arrecifes to the sandwiches and finger foods at Snack La Terraza. Dine a la carte on Italian at Dos Lunas and on Mexican at Careyes. Asian specialties are on the menu at Akeru, and Tex-Mex is prepared at Sarape Grill. For liquid refreshments, the hotel offers numerous places to go, including 2 swim-up bars, a health bar, and a cigar and coffee bar. Music and other live entertainment are on tap nightly.
Recreation: Being on Akumal Bay means water sports are available in abundance. Just for starters you can go kayaking, pedal boating, and surf boarding. Snorkel and scuba dive along the beautiful coral reef, and try your luck at deep-sea fishing. There are 4 swimming pools and 2 beachfront whirlpools. Play a round of pitch and putt and a game of volleyball, basketball, or soccer. You can maintain your form in the gym and on the tennis courts. Each spa has its own distinct style, one with a traditional Mayan-Zen feel and theother with an upscale vive. Take a day trip to Akumal, known as "The Place of Turtles," and go on excursions to Xelha and Xcaret, with Mayan civilization archeological sites.
